I’m Mel — I cast audiobooks, work directly with narrators and authors, and provide business support to studios.

Storytelling has always been the thread that has run throughout my career.

Before I entered the world of publishing, I trained as a broadcast journalist, drawn in by the blend of production and real-life stories. I then worked as a biography coordinator at British Swimming (now Aquatics GB), where I interviewed swimmers & managed their biographies.

Audiobook publishing was a natural next step for me, channelling the production & storytelling expertise from my journalism training — not to mention, my love of books!

After ten years of gaining in-house and freelance experience at leading audio publishers, I continue to work with publishers, studios & storytelling organisations to help tell stories in audio — thoughtfully and honestly.

I truly enjoy the process of “matchmaking” the voice with the written word, as well as working with the wide variety of manuscripts that land in my inbox.

I also love the complexity of projects I handle — from children’s audiobooks with music scores, to full-cast narrations with complex audio briefs. I get such satisfaction combing through the details and collaborating with studios to produce something that lives and breathes.

I have recently begun working directly with audiobook narrators and self-published authors, providing them with key information needed to thrive in the industry.

If you have an audiobook project you’d like to collaborate on, my inbox is always open.
